Health Condition 1: null- Any patient between 60 to 80 years of age who is undergoing open surgery under general anaesthesia of more than 2 hours duration. Health Condition 2: R399- Unspecified symptoms and signs involving the genitourinary system

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age between 60 to 80 years, 2.An open surgical approach, 3.ASA I and ASA II patients, 4.Minimum educational qualification up to V standard, 5.Duration of surgery of more than two hours, 6.Can be either males or females.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Refusal to consent. 2.History of alcohol abuse, chronic opiod or other substance abuse. 3.History of cerebral surgeries, stroke. 4.History of diagnosis of schizophrenia, dementia, anxiety or other disorder affecting cognition, mental dysfunction. 5.Any electrolyte imbalance. 6.Any active infection or disease associated with inflammation.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To know the incidence of Post Operative Cognitive Decline in the participants.Timepoint: on post operative day 3.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
To correlate the Post Operative Cognitive Decline with serum biomarkers like IL-1,IL-6, TNF- Alpha, Amyloid beta and S100.Timepoint: on post operative day 3.
