Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. ASA physical status I,II and III 2. Patients posted for fracture surgery under subarachnoid block and likely to have pain while positioning. 3. Patients able to give written and informed consent. 4. Patients able to understand VAS score regarding assessment of pain

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with contraindications to subarachnoid block. 2. Patients with allergy to amide local anaesthetics or Fentanyl. 3. Patients with history of drug or alcohol abuse. 4. Morbid obesity (BMI >29 kg/m2). 5. Patients with other co-morbid conditions like DM, HT, IHD, bronchial asthma, COPD, neurological or musculoskeletal diseases. 6. Patients with multiple fractures. 7. Patients refusal and unable to understand VAS score. 8. Use of analgesics 8 hours before the performance of subarachnoid block.

1. Sedation score 2. Hemodynamic changes like heart rate, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure. 3. Complications, if any.Timepoint: Sedation score following subarachnoid block and after 30 minutes. Hemodynamic changes before analgesia, 10 minutes after analgesia, during positioning and 1 min, 3min, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, 45 min, 60 min, 75 min and 90 min after subarachnoid block Complications postoperatively.
