Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Diagnosis of mental and behavioral disorders due to use of alcohol dependence syndrome- withdrawal state â?? F10.3 (ICD 10 criteria) Mild- to- moderate rating on CIWA- AR scale (10 or more); including intoxication Availability of a family member Willingness to give written informed consent as an in- patient

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Any co- morbid psychiatric disorder except depression Significant neurological illness Any severe medical illness, or medical illness requiring emergency management Head injury Mental retardation Any other substance use or dependence in the past except nicotine and caffeine
