Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Healthy pregnant women

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: mothers who anticipate moving out of the area before study completion, twin or multiple pregnancies, positivity for hepatitis B (HBsAg), HIV or syphilis (VDRL) infections, or those on daily vitamin supplements in addition to folate and iron, and those with serious pre-existing medical conditions that require chronic or daily medical therapy
