Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Any individual found to have active epilepsy (more than one epileptic seizure) in the last five years, regardless of whether he/she is on treatment with epilepsy medicines.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Inactive epilepsy Non-epileptic seizure disorder Severe concomitant medical disorder

MeasureTime frame
To compare the effect of regular (weekly), home-based care (including patient & family education, AED provision & Monitorong compliance)in the community with routine clinic-based care provided by a neurologist on AED adherence in people with epilepsy.Timepoint: Pill counts monthly to a total at the end of 18 months; Personal impact of epilepsy (quality of life) at 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 months; Seizure control at 18 months.
