Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. All adult patients (more than or equal to 18 years) with type 2 DM who are on only oral hypoglycemic agents for treatment of DM for at least one year and residing in JIPMER Urban Health Centre (JIUHC) service area for at least 6 months 2. Availability of mobile phone at household (at least one member in the family who dines with the participant at least once a day)

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients on insulin 2. Bed ridden patients and/or patients who are not able to take medications on their own
