Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged between 18 to 60 years, of either sex, fulfilling the DSM-V criteria for diagnosis of Schizophrenia and confirmed by two consultants. Patients on treatment with stable dose of antipsychotics for atleast past 6 weeks.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients displaying aggressive, suicidal behavior, catatonia requiring electro convulsive therapy or injectable sedatives (excluding depot antipsychotics) Patients with comorbid psychiatric disorders Mental retardation, Head injury, seizure and other neurological disorders

To study effect of tDCS on psychopathology as measured by PANSS(positive and negative symptom scale) To study the effect of tdcs on global cognitive functions as assessed on the schizophrenia cognition rating scale To study the effect of tdcs on attention and facial emotion recognition by digit vigilence test,trail making test and tool for recognition of emotion in neuropsychiatric disorders Timepoint: Assessed at baseline,6th day postintervention and at 1 month follow up.
