Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To find the difference in average blood loss per cm2 area excised in patients who are given intravenous tranexamic acid during early tangential excision grafting of the burn wounds versus a control group To find the average amount of blood transfusion requirement per cm2 area excised and average fluid requirements during the intra operative period Timepoint: at the time of primary dressing,ie on post operative day 5

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
TO Find the average blood transfusion required per cm2 during tangential excision. Percentage of graft takeTimepoint: On post operative day 5
