Intervention1: a.During induction: Dexmedetomidine 0.3 µgkg-1 diluted to 10ml.
b.During recovery : 10 ml saline
: Dexmedetomidine 0.3 µgkg-1 will be given intravenously following induction of anes

Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All pediatric patients of age group 3-10 years belonging to ASA I and II physical status scheduled to undergo minor elective surgery under general anesthesia.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1) Allergy to any study or anesthetic drug. 2) Documented developmental delay. 3) Whose parents or guardians are unable to give informed consent. 4) Chronic or acute intake of any sedative or analgesic drug. 5) Previous anesthesia experience. 6) Who cannot be followed up. 7) All patient requiring rapid sequence induction.
