Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Preterms: Preterm infants less than 37 weeks of gestation with birth weight of less than 2000 grams, admitted to neonatal intensive care area and stabilized - Admitted for at least one week Mothers: All mothers 18 years of age and older who could read and speak English or Kannada - Mothers who are willing to participate in the study and give consent

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Pretermâ??s having severe handicapping conditions including Grade III or IV intraventricular haemorrhage, sepsis; asphyxia; major congenital anomalies associated with a poor neurodevelopment outcome. - Mothers who have severe medical conditions and psychiatric illness
