Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients between 18 to 60 years of age Patients belonging to ASA grades Iâ??III will be included.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient refusal Known peripheral neuropathy Known allergy to amide local anesthetic drugs. Hepatic or renal insufficiency Coagulopathy

Primary

MeasureTime frame
: Duration of sensory block.Timepoint: Pinprick anesthesia to a 23-gauge needle will be assessed by an anesthetist for 30 minutes post drug injection . It will be done every 5 min for the first 30 minutes following injection of the drug,then half hourly till recovery of block

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1.Block onset time 2.Onset of sensory block 3.Onset of motor block 4.Block efficacy will be graded as : Gr 1 successful Gr 2 partially successful Gr 3 unsuccessful 5.Block performance time 6.duration of motor block of all and of individual nerves 7.duration of sensory block of individual nerves 8.time to first request for postop analgesia 9.Post block complication Timepoint: Pinprick anesthesia to a 23-gauge needle will be assessed by an anesthetist for 30 minutes post drug injection .
