Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients admitted in ITU meeting the diagnostic criteria of severe sepsis and septic shock during the first 24 h of admission

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patient/patient party refuse to participate Age less than 18 years and more than 70 years Patients whose duration of stay in icu was less than 4 h
