Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Body mass index ranging between 18 to 29.9 kg/m2 . Known history of diabetes mellitus with atleast 5 years of duration treated by diet, oral hypoglycaemic, or insulin therapy. Presence or absence of lower extremity symptoms consistent with peripheral neuropathy. Ability to walk independently household distances with or without assistive device.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: History or evidence of cardiovascular disease (history of angina, shortness of breath, uncontrolled hypertension). History or evidence of neurological disorder (i.e. hemiparesis, myelopathy, cerebellar ataxia etc) Significant musculoskeletal deformity (amputation, scoliosis, severe osteoarthritis). Lower extremity arthritis that limits standing or weight bearing position. Symptomatic postural hypotension (standing upto 5 min). Evidence of vestibular dysfunction. Unstable proliferative retinopathy. Vascular complications (venous or arterial ulcers) Evidence of plantar skin pressure ulcer (if present should be healed for at least six months). Receiving any physical therapy intervention.
