Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients belonging to American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status I & II Patients undergoing ventriculoperitoneal shunt surgery Age group between 16 and 50 years Hemodynamically stable GCS>=13 Patients on phenytoin therapy>=7 days

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: History of hypertension, diabetes or other systemic illness History of drug or alcohol abuse History of chronic pain or daily intake of analgesics History of intake of nonsteroidal anti-in�ammatory drugs within 24 h before surgery
