Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1 Patients above 18 years of age 2 Patients with evidence of sepsis admitted into a medical intensive care unit.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1 Age 2 Decompensated chronic liver disease 3 On treatment with immunosuppressive agents. 4 Patients of retro viral illness. 5 Patients with neuromuscular diseases, autoimmune disease. 6 Presence of left ventricular dysfunction or cardiac bypass surgery 7 Chest or abdominal trauma 8 Burn injury.
