Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA Grade I-II of either sex presenting for spine surgery with motor evoked potential monitoring

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: preoperative neurologic deficit grade pre-existing myopathies morbid obesity, diabetes mellitus history of coronary artery disease, history of chronic renal and hepatic insufficiency, history of heart block, history of allergy to any drugs, history of seizures history of pacemaker and automatic implantable cardioverter-defibrillator

To study the effect of two anaesthetic regimes with dexmedetomidine as adjuvant on transcranial electrical motor evoked potentials during spine surgery Timepoint: Baseline (T0) TcMEPs amplitudes will be recorded before incision.T1(at 30 min), T2(at 60 min),T3(at 90 min),T4(at 120 min). The values will be recorded hourly thereafter till the end of surgery.
