Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) First onset of stroke. 2) Medically stable. 3) MMSE score beyond 21. 4) Ability to stand independently. 5) Ability to walk with supervision. 6) Brunnstrom recovery stage beyond 3.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Perceptual dysfunction that might affect walking and standing balance. 2) Severe hip flexor, hamstring and plantar flexor tightness limiting 20 degrees of physiological range.

Design outcomes

MeasureTime frame
1) Hip muscles isometric strength measured using hand held dynamometer in pounds. 2) Hip motor control using Fugl Meyer Assessment scale. 3) Pelvic tilt measured using palpation meter (PALM device). 4) Weight bearing symmetry while standing on two weighing scales. 5) Gait speed with 10 meter walk test.Timepoint: All the measured will be assessed at one single time period (cross-sectional).
