Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ALL PRETERM NEONATES <34 WEEKS GESTATION BORN UNDER NEONATAL UNITS OF NEHRU HOSPITAL, PGIMER, CHANDIGARH IN THE MONTH OF JULY-AUGUST,2016.THE NEWBORNS WERE ENROLLED 3 HOURS AFTER THEIR BIRTH WHEREBY THE FIRST CORD SWAB SAMPLE WAS TAKEN.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: PRETERM NEWBORN WITH CORD ABNORMALITIES(EG OMPHALOCELE)AND MOTHERS WHO REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE STUDY WERE EXCLUDED
