Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Healthy non-pregnant women aged 18â??46 years, self-reporting low iodine Consumption (mild iodine deficiency) 2. Willingness to give informed consent 3. Plasma Iodine Level: Less than 40 µg/L in Iodide deficient and 150-250 mcg in normal subjects

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1.Those with existing thyroid disorders (Hyperthyroidism or Iodine overload) 2.Plasma Iodine Level less than 150 and more than 250 mcg in normal subjects 3.Plasma Iodine level more than 40 mcg in iodide deficient subjects 4.Skin diseases 5.Taking medications other than the contraceptive pill, as well as iodine supplemented medicines 6.Those taking iodised dietary supplements
