Intervention1: Dexmedetomidine 1µg/kg IV: Dexmedetomidine 1µg/kg body weight diluted in NS to make a total volume of 100 ml intravenously given over a period of 10 minutes after induction of anaesth

Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1.Patients scheduled for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy under general anaesthesia. 2.Belonging to ASA class I.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1.History of cardiovascular diseases e.g. hypertension, ischaemic heart disease, conduction defects, etc. 2.History of compromised renal / hepatic / neuronal functions. 3.Pregnant or lactating women. 4.Patient on any drug affecting cardiovascular parameters e.g. calcium-channel blockers, β-blockers, magnesium sulphate etc.
