Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: all awake consenting patients undergoing awake craniotomy
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: are uncooperative, with diminished levels of consciousness, mental retardation, with anticipated difficult intubation, obstructive sleep apnoea, medical conditions preventing to lie down for many hours, severe bradycardia, any type of atrioventricular block on the ECG, heart failure, and allergy to the study drugs will be excluded from the study
