Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients of both the sexes weighing between 40-100 kgs of physical status ASA l and ll undergoing elective lower abdominal surgeries under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients not consenting for the blocks 2. Patients belonging to ASA III, IV, V physical status 3. Patients allergic to local anaesthetics 4. Presence of infection at the needle insertion site over the abdomen 5. Patients currently using analgesics or who had acute or chronic pain

MeasureTime frame
Primary outcome of the study would be to evaluate the duration for requirement of first rescue analgesic post operativelyTimepoint: First 24 hours post operatively

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Pain score (NPIS scale 0-10) at rest 2. Total analgesic consumption ( morphine in mg)Timepoint: Would be recorded for the first 24 hrs after the surgery
