Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Clinical symptoms with GROUP 1 1 Age 15-70 yrs 2 Bloody diarrhoea 3 Diarrhoea with mucus GROUP 2 1. Abdominal discomfort 2. fever 3. Lethargy 4. Anaemia 5. Anorexia 6. Sour taste Patients with the above mentioned clinical features will be included in the study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Any other systemic illness 2. Vulnerable group 3. Athisara pitham 4. Athisara silethumam 5. Irritable Bowel Syndrome 6. Rectal varices 7. Malignancies

MeasureTime frame
Establishing the relevance of Sage Yugi symptomatology about the disease Vanni Pitham with that of the present day patient sample.Timepoint: 1 year

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
1. Arriving at an interpretation of Vanni Pitham ,its Siddha pathophysiology, symptomatology and Etiology with reference to modern pathological concepts of inflammatory bowel disease. 2. Findings of udalvaagu and kurta vaagu. 3. Findings of Envagaithervu. 4. Formulation of line of treatment and dietary regimen for the condition of Vanni Pitham. Timepoint: 1year
