Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Fever and urinary symptoms (dysuria, urinary frequency, urinary urgency) with presence of >=10 WBC in urine Urine/ Blood C/S showing ESBL + organism Patient from South India Afebrile with absence of urinary symptoms for 24 hours prior to randomization
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Failure of patient to give consent Presence of fever or shock or persistent urinary symptoms at Day 7 Presence of renal abscess Presence of hydronephrosis or hydroureteronephrosis requiring intervention in the first 7 days. Non ESBL â??producing organism Pregnancy Patient on immunosuppression Patient with chronic kidney disease on renal replacement therapy
