Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: All primi mothers, in their early third trimester of pregnancy (28 weeks and beyond, based on first trimester ultrasound or last menstrual period method, if first trimester ultrasound is not available), who attend the obstetrics and gynecology OPD, who are willing to come for regular antenatal visits and have planned their delivery in our hospital and willing to bring the baby for immunization regularly thereafter will be included in the study, after getting informed consent.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Mothers who have not delivered in our hospital 2. Mothers who have complications which could potentially hamper initiation of breast feeding > 24 hours (eclampsia, post-partum hemorrhage or any other disease which will interfere with breast feeding) 3. Babies in whom breast feeding initiation was delayed for some medical reasons > 24 hours (prematurity with associated medical problems, very low birth weight, birth asphyxia, suspected inborn errors of metabolism or any other disease) 4. Mothers who have not attended at least one of three counseling sessions in the 3rd trimester and/ or one of the three immunization visits. 5. Mothers who do not report for the final visit at 6 months of age.
