Design outcomes
Primary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| I-gel is comparable to endotracheal intubation in terms of adequacy of ventilation (PECO2, minute ventilation and SpO2). However, increase of peak airway pressures is less with I-gel. Also post operative complications are fewer with I-gel.Timepoint: 1. After induction 2. Before carboperitonem 3. After carboperitoneum | — |
Secondary
| Measure | Time frame |
|---|---|
| 1. Haemodynamic responses elicited by each device were comparable and within normal limits and so was the rise in end tidal CO2. 2. I-gel requires a slightly longer time for insertion than endotracheal tube in paediatric population. Timepoint: 1. After induction 2. Before carboperitoneum 3. After carboperitoneum | — |
