Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Stage I: 1.Healthy children between the ages of 6-14 years. 2.Both the genders: Males and females. 3.Children from all the socioeconomic strata 4.Children who will be able to understand simple instructions in Hindi/ English. Stage II: 1.Children with low physical fitness score in three out of five tests from the cohort of stage I. 2.Both the genders: males and Female.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Stage I: 1.Children with any diagnosed medical conditions like Juvenile Diabetes, Congenital Heart conditions, Respiratory conditions, Neurological, Metabolic disorders etc. 2.Children with physical disability or cognitive problems. Stage II: 1.Children with any recent injury of muscular or ligamentous origin (Last 4 weeks). 2.Children who has medically advised for non-participation in any kind of physical exercises.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
For Fitness status: 1. Body Mass Index (BMI) 2. Curl up test 3. Sit and reach test 4. Hand grip test 5. 1600 meter run/ walk test 6. 4x 10 mts shuttle run test For Nutritional Status: 24 hour dietary recall test For Socioeconomic Status: Urban Socio-economic status grid (SEC Grid System). Timepoint: Phase I All tests are done one time All tests will be assessed one time. Phase II Physical fitness tests all tests will be assessed pre and post intervention.
