Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All paediatric patients <=5 kg undergoing open heart surgery under CPB.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: a)children > 5 kg body weight b) children with documented hypothyroidism and other syndromes pre operatively c) children undergoing open heart surgery without CPB d) children whose parents are not consenting for the study
