Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Untreated moderate to severe chronic periodontitis patients. 2. Patients without periodontal surgery for the last 24 months. 3. Teeth with probing pocket depth of 5-8 mm.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Any systemic disease that affects periodontium. 2. Pregnant or post menopausal women. 3. Those receiving any anti-inflammatory drugs, antibiotics or vitamins within previous 3 months. 4. Heavy smokers or history of alcohol abuse.
