Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1. Infants excluding neonates. 2. Mechanically ventilated due to respiratory cause. 3. Fulfilling extubation criteria as per standard PICU protocol.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Infants who were mechanically ventilated due to causes other than respiratory. 2. Having associated neurological impairment. 3. Having associated heart disease. 4. Having major congenital/chromosomal anomaly. 5. Declining to give informed consent. 6. Immunocompromised patient. 7. Patient having chronic respiratory problem like cystic fibrosis, follow up of BPD
