Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Controls and cases will be of both genders, aged 18 - 24 months, all consuming an adequate daily intake of energy and protein and not being breast-fed. 2. Controls will have good health, normal weight and height and normal gut function. 3. Cases will be otherwise healthy except for presence of EED and possibly stunting (HAZ
