Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1.Age 18-65 yrs 2.Glasgow coma scale score 3.Having indication for decompressive craniectomy: -Sustained ICP elevation >25 mm Hg for more than 30 min in an hour.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. ASA physical status IV/ V 2. Brain mass lesion 3. Patient with past history of any intracranial surgery 4. Patient with coagulation abnormality 5. Unstable cervical spine injury

Primary

MeasureTime frame
To compare values of SjVO2 pre and post decompressive craniectomy.Timepoint: after insertion of jugular venous catheter (preoperative)to 12 hours postoperative period

1. To correlate minimum values of SjVO2 with the outcome. 2. To correlate changes in values of SjVO2 with the outcome. 3. To correlate values of SjvO2 and ICP before and after DC. 4.
