Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Non-pregnant and pregnant (first and third trimester) women, without any medical conditions.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Medical conditions; poor obstetric history; complicated pregnancy.

Primary

MeasureTime frame
The primary outcome will be responses to methionine load, i.e. methionine and total homocysteine levels , the ratio of m3 and m1 enrichment of methionine at 3 and 5 hours and infants birth weight.Timepoint: Response to methionine load at first and third trimester, and birth weight within 72 hours of birth.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Body composition (by new born anthropometry), and cord blood levels of 1-C metabolites.Timepoint: At birth.
