Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: 1. Subjects in between age groups 16-45 years. 2. Moderate to severe pain in maxillary 1st molar tooth. 3. A positive response to cold testing with an ice stick & an electric pulp tester. 4. The ability of the subject to understand the use of pain scales. 5. The subject should be in good health & none should take any medication that would alter pain perception, as determined by oral questioning & a written questionnaire. 6. Absence of any periapical radiolucency on radiographs except for a widened periodontal ligament.
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with systemic disorder like diabetes, hypertension, asthma etc. 2. Patient having active pain in more than 1 maxillary molar. 3. Subjects taking any pain relieving medication including OTC analgesics at least 12 hrs before enrolment in the study. 4. Swelling near the tooth in question.
