Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: A patient must fulfill the definition for a case, as given below. Proven case:Any host whose a) histopathology/ cytology/ direct microscopy demonstrates septate hyphae invading tissue or aspirate from sterile sites b) Culture is positive from sterile sites Probable case: Host satisfying criteria of EORTC definition/ Host with COPD satisfying definitions by Bulpa P, et al, Eur Resp J 2007;30:782â??800/ Host in ICU satisfying clinical algorithm by Blot SI, et al, Am J Resp Crit Care Med 2012 Apr 19
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Patients with endemic mycoses (histoplasmosis, sporotrichosis, penicilliosis), yeast infections, and allergic fungal diseases like allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis will not be included. Infection limited to the skin only will also be excluded.
