Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: 1) Patients with Dyspeptic symptoms such as epigastric pain, heart burn, flatulence, early satiety. 2) Patients who are undergoing Upper GI endoscopy for the first time in Deptt. of Gastroenterology in IGMC, Shimla . 3) Patients who are willing to participate in the study. 4) Normal Hearing to be checked by watch test

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. Not giving Consent for the study 2. Inability to communicate. 3. Previous endoscopy procedures 4. Impaired Hearing 5. Not able to fill the Proforma 6. Hemodynamic Instability 7. On Antihypertensive Drugs 8. On Anti psychotic Drugs 9. Patient on Antibiotics, Proton Pump Inhibitor in the last Two week 10. Patient requiring Emergency Endoscopic Procedure 11. Patient with prescheduled Therapeutic Endoscopic Procedure

1.To evaluate Trait & State of anxiety of patient undergoing Upper Gastrointestinal Endoscopy by using STAI. 2.To observe the effect of listening to Vedic chants or classical music before endoscopy on State of anxiety of the patient. 3.To observe the effects of listening to Vedic chants or classical music on blood pressure, heart rate & oxygen saturation before & after UGI endoscopy. Timepoint: Pre intervention and post intervention
