Health Condition 1: null- Hernia Health Condition 2: K409- Unilateral inguinal hernia, without obstruction or gangrene

Interventions

Intervention1: Ropivacaine: 0.75% Ropivacaine is used in our study. Each port site was infiltrated with 1ml of 0.75% ropivacaine before the skin is incised for inserting ports and before skin closure.

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Male: 1. Between 18 -60 years 2. ASA grade I and II 3. Unilateral inguinal hernia Type 1, 2 and 3a of Nyhus Classification

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Exclusion criteria: 1. Patients with complicated hernia i.e. irreducible obstructed or strangulated hernias. 2. Patients with previous lower abdominal surgery. 3. Patients with coagulopathies. 4. Patients who have received analgesic in last 24 hours. 5. Patients not giving informed consent for randomization or TEP.

1.Comparison of post-operative pain scores between the two groups at 2 hrs and 24 hrs post- operatively. 2. Total analgesics requirement in post-operative period till post-operative day 7 Timepoint: 2 hrs, 24 hrs and 7 days post-operative
