Interventions

Intervention1: Group B (with muscle relaxant): desflurane (0.8-1 MAC) and dexmedetomidine( 0.2-.0.7 micrograms/kg/min) with atarcurium infusion( 4-12 micrograms/kg/min) for maintenance of anaesthesia

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Age â?? 18 - 60 years American Society of Anaesthesiologists grade I/II Glasgow Coma Scale 15/15

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: No consent Pregnant and lactating patients Patient on beta blockers, sick sinus syndrome Hypersensitivity to bupivacaine/dexmedetomidine/propofol/atarcurium

Time taken to achieve Alderete score 9, Time taken for eye opening, Time taken for extubation, Time taken for orientationTimepoint: monitored every 15 mins for 1st hour, and then at 60 mins, 90 and 120 minutes after extubation

MeasureTime frame
Intraoperative and post operative hemodynamic stability, requirement of fentanyl, dexmedetomidine and propofol, Brain Relaxation ScoreTimepoint: every 10 minutes in intraoperative period, monitored every 15 mins for 1st hour, and then at 60 mins, 90 and 120 minutes after extubation
