Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: American society of anaesthesiologist (ASA) physical status I & II who will be scheduled for short ophthalmic examinations under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with significant known cardiovascular, neurological, pulmonary,renal or genetic disorder, anticipated difficult airway and known allergy to proparacaine

MeasureTime frame
To compare total sevoflurane consumption and actual patient uptake with the two different anaesthesia techniques for ophthalmic examinations in 1-5yrs old childrenTimepoint: 20 Minutes

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
a) To compare the procedural condition (eye movement/patient movement) with the two different anaesthesia techniquesTimepoint: Just after insertion of LMA;b) To compare recovery times and readiness to discharge from the operation theatre with the two different anaesthesia techniquesTimepoint: 1 to 5 minutes for recovery and 20 to 30 for readiness to discharge.
