Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients undergoing Off pump CABG

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Patients with pre-existing cardiac arrhythmias . Patients taken for emergency CABG or re-do surgery. Patients on steroid therapy or with known adrenal insufficiency.

To observe and compare the hemodynamic responses of etomidate and propofol in patients planned for CABG off pumpTimepoint: At Intubation,Every min for 10 min and then every 2 min for 30 min

MeasureTime frame
Effect of etomidate on serum cortisolTimepoint: 24 hours after injection of Etomidate;To compare the requirement of ionotropic agents intra-operatively and post-operativelyTimepoint: Postoperatively till patient is discharged from Cardiac recovery
