Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: •Newly diagnosed patients with suspected metastatic prostate cancer [by clinical diagnosis and Ultrasound sonography (USG)] •High PSA levels ( > 10ng/ml) •Undergoing Prostate biopsy for their routine clinical care.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Prostate cancer patients undergoing •Chemotherapy, •Androgen deprivation therapy and •Radiotherapy will be excluded. •Therapy for any chronic ailment or infection

MeasureTime frame
â?¢Anti-neoplastic role of Surfactant Protein D would be evaluated in primary cell cultures of prostate cancer patients for the first time.Timepoint: 36 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
â?¢ The proposed study shall provide insights on expression and regulation of Surfactant Protein D in Prostate Cancer and its impact on the survival of prostate tumor cells. â?¢ Further, the study shall result in understanding of the putative interacting partners of SP-D in prostate cancer cells and the involved signal transduction pathways. Timepoint: 36 months
