Control Intervention1: Inj fentanyl (2ug/kg): 100 ml normal saline given over 10 minutes before induction

Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA I patients of both sexes posted for elective surgery under general anaesthesia

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: patients with known history of allergy to any drug, patients with any systemic disease, emergency surgical procedures, anticipated difficult intubation, patients where intubation was prolonged or required more than one attempt
