Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Children diagnosed as Autism using the DSM IV Autism Criteria. • Certified to be in adequate healthy state by panel Doctors and Therapists. • Age 3 to 10 years and of either sex. • Well-educated parents who can understand the experimental nature of the study, and can give informed voluntary written permission for inclusion of their autistic child for this study.

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Children having other genetic disabilities or cerebral palsy. • Insufficiency of liver / kidney / marrow function as per appropriate biochemical tests. • Chronic uncontrolled illness that may need medical therapy which could interfere with diagnosis, treatment and assessment of the Autism symptoms.

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
to assess the improvement in quality of life and improvement in cognitive and communication skills, and psychosocial behavior in the children, with the aid of the addition of Unani medical interventionsTimepoint: Assessments will be done in 0,3 and 6 months

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
to find the difference in improvement in children given plcebo with standard rehabilitation versus unani supplement with rehabilitationTimepoint: assessments will be done in 0, 3 and 6 months
