Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: All post operative patient

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1. obstetric and pediatric patients 2. presence of comorbidities like cardiac failure, COPD 3. patients on inotropic support(0.03microgram/kg/min of noradrenaline)

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Successful extubation after undergoing either of the spontaneous breathing trial.Timepoint: Success or failure of extubation determined by the need to reintubate the patient within 48 hours of extubation.

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
Physiological difference in the cardiorespiratory parameters at the end of two hours following spontaneous breathing test with either of the two modes.Timepoint: parameters will be measured at two hours post extubation.
