Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: ASA physical status I and II of either sex aged between 18 to 60 yr undergoing elective laparoscopic renal surgery

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Patient having pulmonary disease 2) Patient having cardiovascular disease 3) Chronic smoker 4) Patient having intracranial pathology and raised intracranial pressure 5) Obese patient with body mass index (BM I) > 30 kg/m2. 6) Laparoscopy replaced by laprotomy. 7) Bilateral abnormal modified Allenâ??s test (delayed hand flushing >10 seconds)

Arterial to end-tidal CO2 pressure differences {P(a-ET)CO2}Timepoint: Eight predesignated time intervals Stage I (Before pneumo peritoneum) T1a- Ten mins after induction of anesthesia. T1b-Ten mins after LDP and prior to CO2 insufflation. Stage II (During pneumo peritoneum) Every 30 minutes during this period and labelled as T30, T60, T90, T120. Stage III (After release of pneumo peritoneum) T2a- Ten mins after release of CO2. T2b- Ten mins after patient was made supine at the end of procedure.
