Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Subjects with Metabolic Syndrome as per diagnosis criteria given by Join Interim Statement

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: 1) Subjects with inability or with restrictions to participate in a regular physical activity program 2) Subjects with substantial weight loss in previous 12 months 3) Subjects with regular use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs 4) Subjects with uncontrolled Diabetes and Hypertension 5) Subjects with history of serious mental illness/ psychiatric disorders 6) Subjcets with heavy alcohol consumption and smoking 7)Pregnant and lactating females 8)Females with plan of pregnancy during the study

Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
Improvement in any of the components of metabolic syndrome (viz. waist Circumference, triglycerides, HDL-C, blood pressure, fasting blood glucose).Timepoint: Baseline, 2 weeks, 12 weeks

Secondary

Improvement in body composition, insulin resistance, adipocytokines, markers of inflammation and oxidative stress, dietary intake and quality of life.Timepoint: Baseline, 2 weeks, 12 weeks
