Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: • Patients > 50 yr of age • >18years Patients

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: • Any patient who is unable to exercise • Patients with hepatopulmonary syndrome • Patient not willing to undergo CPEX • Surgery is cancelled for any reason • Pregnancy • Patients who are not able to reach Anaerobic Threshold during CPEX • The patient suffers any of the following within 3 months before Pre-anaesthesia Assessment o Myocardial infarction o Cerebrovascular event o Transient ischaemic attack o Pulmonary embolic event o Deep vein thrombosis

A) Morbidity : recorded as 1.Cardiovascular- MI, Dysrhythmias, CHF,vasopressors requirement 2.Respiratory - Prolonged intubation 24 h, acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute respiratory failure, pneumothorax, pleural effusion. 3.Vascular events -thromboembolism 4.Renal events- Renal insufficiency, Renal failure 5.Infectious events- Wound infection, sepsis.
