Eligibility
Inclusion criteria
Inclusion criteria: Women undergoing 2nd stage cesarean delivery with single live fetus with vertex presentation at term (38-42 wks gestational age)and who gave consent
Exclusion criteria
Exclusion criteria: Inability to give an informed consent. The presence of maternal infection or active genital sepsis during labour. Consent not given

| Secondary maternal outcome measures were incision to baby delivery interval, total operation time, need for blood transfusion, any febrile morbidity in post-operative period, total hospital stay,admission to intensive care unit and need for reoperation. For baby Apgar 3 at 5mins, need for intubation, admission to neonatal intensive care unit 24 hours,any fetal trauma, convulsion, septicemia and neonatal death. Timepoint: 2 years | — |
