Eligibility

Inclusion criteria

Inclusion criteria: Patients aged 18 to 60 years, with ASA physical status 1 and 2, undergoing elective neurosurgical procedure under general anaesthesia and requiring application of skull pins were included in the study

Exclusion criteria

Exclusion criteria: Hypertensives, patients undergoing emergency surgery, intracranial aneurysm surgery, those having significant cardiac, pulmonary, renal or hepatic disease, those having contraindication to beta blockers, or taking treatment that can affect hemodynamic parameters were excluded
