Design outcomes

Primary

MeasureTime frame
the development of ventilator associated pneumonia as diagnosed using the CDC algorithms Timepoint: presence of VAP will be assessed on the 5th day of mechanical ventilation

Secondary

MeasureTime frame
correlation between the organisms isolated in the oropharyngeal, nasopharyngeal and tracheal culturesTimepoint: 5th day of mechanical ventilation
